What We Do

Smart Building

Chroma’s extensive experience in the technology and room automation sector leaves us well placed to be at the forefront of the Smart Building revolution. Whether you require a single element of your building to be monitored or a fully integrated dashboard that allows you to have sight of multiple strands of data, our team will be able to make it happen.

The term Smart Building has been entering the consciousness of both technology and building professionals over the last few years. The idea that many aspects of a building’s performance can be conducted using technology is not a new one, yet the concept that many disparate elements can be brought together has been developing rapidly. Rather than having numerous integral systems working independently, the modern building manager can browse a wealth of critical decision making data in one place. Whether that be lighting usage, HVAC control or access security, the Smart Building can deliver control to the fingertips of the people that need to know. Beyond the supply of holistic information, the Smart Building can assist its occupants individually by booking/preparing meeting venues, broadcasting hotdesk data or simply tuning the air con to their needs. The meshing together of systems, the incorporation of data sets and the ease of access to that data, benefits the building manager, the individuals within and the environment.

Smart Building technology is not a one size fits all option, so at Chroma we believe that a consultative approach from day one is the most effective way to deliver the outcomes that best fit your organisation. If your priority is more efficient use of space resource through activity tracking, we can start planning with that at the forefront. If cost savings and a greener workplace is your priority then a setup that reduces power consumption through improved visibility of energy use would be our starting point. We will work with you to discover your needs and then the Chroma team will mould them into a strategy that fits your priorities, costings and timescales. With these in place, the install team can get to work on the hardware nuts and bolts of the project, whether that entails merging your existing infrastructure with some additional capacity or putting together a brand new setup from plan. After the building has been made Smart capable, the Chroma software team will set about installing the tools that allow you to control elements of the building and view data. It could be a web dashboard that brings together a collection of management information, a series of touchscreen units to allow users to control meeting venues or digital signing to share pertinent data with people around the building. With everything in place, we will ensure that the right people get the right training and that all our work is fully documented. Even once we have left the building, the Chroma support team will be on hand to continue to guide you through each level of your new Smart Building.
